This original painting was inspired by the wildlife I encountered whilst walking in the Cotswold hills. This particular piece was painted after seeing a vixen leading its cubs to safety in a hedgerow. I was struck by her protectiveness and wanted to express that.  The beauty of the colour of their coats especially in autumn when they blend in with the orange and gold colours was also an inspiration.
