Recently exhibited in Llanidloes, Mid Wales in a group exhibition, this piece was inspired by my wish to support the Stop Bute Energy Action Group in Mid Wales www.stopbute.energy. Numbers of threatened birds in the Welsh uplands have been falling in recent years.  Loss of privacy and habitat, land improvement, quad bike activity and wind turbines are some of the factors contributing to their rapid decline.

I particularly enjoyed creating this piece as I like the colours of the Woodcock, Green Finch and Red Grouse, especially the oranges and golds of their feathers sitting amongst the purples of the heather, the habitat in which they thrive.

The exhibition including this piece will be moving to the Museum of Modern Art from 13 September to 15 November www.moma.cymru.

My 2D mosaic pieces are firmly fixed onto a ¾” deep MDF board with a border of mosaic tiles in order to create a frame for the image.  The back is painted matt with a harmonizing colour.  This piece can be used as a tile for a flat surface or you can hang it on your wall. It is fitted with D-rings and wire for hanging. This can easily be removed if you wish to use it as a tile.  If you’d like the D-rings to be removed before delivery, please make contact with me via my Contacts Link below.

Size: 12" square

Postage and packing: Free in the UK

Mosaics are carefully packaged in bubble wrap and either a padded envelope or a cardboard box. All orders include tracking and may be shipped from outside the UK. Estimated delivery time is 7-15 days, depending on location.

If you are outside the UK, please make contact via the Contact page for the cost of postage and packing.
