Welcome to Wales

The elements are really welcoming me to mid-Wales with full force!

When I arrived here, there was five days of freezing (really freezing!) fog, which obscured the beauty of the hills. The following week, I had to navigate blizzard conditions in the dark driving over the Cambrian mountains from Aberystwyth at 20 mph! It was not fun!

Last week found me navigating the flood waters in Builth Wells following heavy rainfall. The town lies at the confluence of the rivers Wye and Irfon, in the Welsh part of the Wye Valley, so it readily overflows the riverbank if there’s been a deluge. And this morning I woke to a beautiful covering of snow and bright blue skies! Preferable to the freezing fog and floods! A real delight to walk in and very inspirational!
