PROTECT GLASLYN NATURE RESERVE AND HAFREN FOREST- AN EXHIBITION TO RAISE AWARENESS OF THIS POTENTIAL ENVIRONMENTAL CRISIS IN MID WALES - VANISHING WINGS: ART OF THE ENDANGERED

The Wild Oak Cafe in Great Oak Street in Llanidloes is hosting a new exhibition starting on Sunday 1 June until the end of the month. There will be art works on the wall including drawings, paintings in various media, print-making and mosaics. I have a mixed media piece included in the exhibition - Limited Editions: Welsh ”Birds of Paradise”.

LIMITED EDITIONS: WELSH “BIRDS OF PARADISE”

MIXED MEDIA MOSAIC, 30CM SQUARE £245

The purpose of the exhibition is to raise awareness of the serious threat to many bird species in these two rare and biodiverse habitats that the Protect Glaslyn and Hafren action group is trying to protect.

Glaslyn Nature Reserve and Hafren Forest are two beautiful areas of outstanding natural beauty between Llanidloes and Machynlleth in Mid Wales.  The focus of this well organised and determined action group is to stop the destruction of wild landscape and wildlife as a consequence of Bute Energy's proposal to build wind farms at these locations.  The website address for the action group if you would like to see what they are doing and also support them is www.stopbute.energy.

There will be examples of the 22+ birds that are currently endangered. Please come along to view the exhibition. All art works are for sale.

The Wild Oak Cafe is a vegan/vegetarian, dog-friendly cafe in the heart of the community in Llanidloes. It offers a dine in or take away service and has a beautiful courtyard garden with tables out the back. 12 Great Oak Street, Llanidloes, SY18 6BU. Open Monday to Saturday 9.30-4.
